New Testament Tithing FOUND in Mathew 23:23 "Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You give a tenth of your spices, mint, dill and cumin. But you have neglected the more important matters of the law: justice, mercy and faithfulness. You should have practiced the latter, WITHOUT NEGLECTING THE FORMER.
I'm not calling anyone a hypocrite. Don't neglect the tithe so our Pastors can devote themselves to hearing from God.
We are not under the law but, I can tell you that there is an unseen law of desperation. I couldn't pay my rent at one time and only had $60 of the $110 needed.(per week) I gave it all at church on Sunday and went to an employment agency on Monday and got a job. I had gone for two weeks, sitting at the agency waiting, no job. I was not investing. I had no other option but to trust God. In fact, it was more like, Oh well, I don't have enough, I might as well give it to God. It wasn't great faith but maybe a grain of mustard seed. We really need to know the Word for ourselves. Make time for study, prayer and worship continually. May you be filled with the Holy Spirit who teaches all things and reminds us of the Word, through Jesus our Annointed Lord of Kings. Amen.
